Following our successful seminar series last year on asset protection, we are now going to look at matrimonial conflict and divorce, the impact this can have and how to avoid it.

Our guest speakers will be Michael Chapman and Martin Karran from Ward Hadaway Solicitors. Ward Hadaway is one of the UK`s Top 100 Law firms and a major player in the North of England with offices in Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester. Michael specialises in high value financial issues in family cases with particular experience acting for business owners, professionals and sports people.

Martin`s work involves resolving complex and often very high value divorce disputes. A great number involve business assets and also many high profile clients from the world of music, sport and politics.

They will share with us some horror stories and how to avoid them through pre and post nuptial settlements and how these fit in with inheritance and family businesses. They will look at matrimonial law as part of wealth and family financial planning.

Joining them will be John Green, our Director of Corporate Finance and Forensic Accountancy. He will tell us just what happens when the court looks at and values your business as part of matrimonial proceedings and how it can be used to achieve a financial settlement.

Other private client and corporate specialists will also be present from both Ward Hadaway and Pierce.

The event is a breakfast seminar taking place at our offices, Mentor House on Thursday 21st April from 8.00am till 10.00am. The itinerary is as follows:
