The project was jointly funded by Leicester City Council, Leicester Riders Basketball Team, Leicester College and Sport England. The brief of this Design & Build project was to provide a seated arena for basketball, volleyball, badminton and a variety of other indoor sports, which would also be the new home of Leicester Riders Basketball Team.

The basketball arena itself is designed to accommodate up to 2,500 spectators for Leicester Riders home games.

Club Director Kevin Routledge, who has spearheaded the project had this to say “I think it’s a complete game changer for the Riders”

On completion of the project, Leicester Riders had their first home game at the arena; they were up against the Surrey Scorchers. The Riders won the game 77-60 to advance to the semi-finals of the BBL Trophy.

B&E Boys were invited to attend to game, here’s what our Property Director, Michael Boys, had to say “It was a thrilling occasion to see 2,500 people packed into the new Arena and see a very competitive and colourful, but very family friendly NBL Basketball game. There was a real buzz of excitement on the evening in this amazing venue, and I was extremely proud to see what the Boys Team, from Management staff to the Tradesmen, at B&E Boys had created for the people of Leicester. A massive amount of respect and credit to all involved!”
