John Green

Director and Chairman

Having qualified as an auditor with PwC Liverpool I was keen to understand how companies were funded, what they were worth and how they were bought and sold. I moved to PKF Liverpool to learn those skills and also had an introduction to expert witness work which was a niche of my boss. Returning to Blackburn in 1993 I had the opportunity to further develop those skills by setting up and building a team providing these services to our client base and to local and regional solicitors. Today we offer the full range of corporate finance and forensic accountancy services making us somewhat unique in the Lancashire marketplace.

Qualifications and professional achievements:

Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (“ICAEW”)
Accredited ICAEW Forensic Accountant and Expert Witness
Practising Member of The Academy of Experts
Founding Member of the Expert Witness Institute
CF – Corporate Finance Qualification of ICAEW

How did you end up working for an accountancy practice?

I would have loved to be a doctor, a surgeon, but am useless at DIY! After my 4th Year Biology results, my Dad ordered me the choice of accountancy, law or banking!! The choice made my Mum then organised me some summer holiday work at Edward Chester & Son in Clitheroe who were my Dad’s accountants. A degree in Accounting & Finance followed at Lancaster University. The rest, as they say, is history.

Unusual Facts:

I have played for the Lancashire Over 50s cricket team
