Help Pierce Fundraise for Lancashire Mind in 2022

Published 8th March 2022

Each year, we choose a local charity to fundraise for, and in 2022, our chosen charity is Lancashire Mind!

About Lancashire Mind

While the commissioned work with the NHS and local authorities allows Lancashire Mind to deliver some core services and fund central costs, additional donations from individuals and businesses allow them to invest in areas of work where they see an immediate need, and where there is no other funding. Last year, this donation income allowed Lancashire Mind to invest in four new projects, that otherwise would not have happened:

Below are some of the areas where important funds are directed;

£100 could provide someone moving into one of our properties with essentials such as towels, kitchen utensils

£500 could deliver five workshops in community settings, teaching children daily activities for looking after their mental health.

£2,500 could provide a class of young people with a 10-week mental health and resilience programme to give them the tools they need to manage their mental health today and in the future.

£5,000 could provide 20 people with six weeks of one-to-one support helping to change their future.

Great Manchester Half Marathon

On Sunday 22nd May, Payroll Manager, Phil Johnson, and Online Services Advisor, Shauna Williamson, are taking on the Great Manchester Half Marathon.

Starting and finishing in the heart of the city, the route passes iconic landmarks including Old Trafford, Etihad, and the Imperial War Museum.

Show your support for Phil and Shauna by donating on our JustGiving page and leave them a message.

We have included below some of the services available from Lancashire Mind.

Virtual Wellbeing Coaching for children and young people

The Free Virtual Coaching Service works with children and young people aged between 10 and 18. We support young people to develop coping strategies, increase confidence and build positive relationships and support networks. This helps them to improve and maintain their well-being. The service is available Lancashire-wide and can be accessed through referrals by parents, school staff, and other services. Throughout the sessions, a Lancashire Mind Wellbeing Coach will introduce young people to positive coping strategies through activities centered around the young person and the issue they are facing. This includes an introduction to the five ways to wellbeing, alongside practical tools such as mindfulness and breathing techniques. Morecambe Cross Bay Walk

A team of employees, on the 23rd of July, are taking part in a guided walk across Morecambe Bay.

Completing a distance of between 6-9 miles starting from Arnside and ending at Grange-Over-Sands, we will be walking over sand, footpaths, lanes, and marshland, navigating the Kent River.

Taking in the incredible scenery, the Cross Bay Walk is renowned for its historic value, with a royally appointed guide, people have been crossing the sands since the 1500s.

If you would like to support the team by making a donation, please use our JustGiving page.

On the 21st of August, a team of 7 is participating in one of the most exhilarating experiences imaginable!

They will be jumping from a plane doing a tandem skydive with the Lancaster-based Black Knights!

Hoping to reach a dizzying height of 15,000ft, making it the highest skydive in the UK, the team is hoping to raise vital funds for Lancashire Mind. We hope the weather conditions are perfect on the day.

Please support the team by donating to our JustGiving page.
