Accounts Advisor

Jamie Doolan

Summary

Accounts Advisor within the Business Services team, preparing statutory year-end accounts for various clients and industries.

Background

I started studying my AAT Level 2 at night college while being employed at Bookers wholesale.

Then, looking to move into accountancy to gain hands-on experience, I became employed by Warr & Co Limited as a trainee accountant and served nearly 9 years there while progressing through my ACA studies to finally become fully qualified in 2024.

Hobbies

I enjoy playing golf with friends (being responsible adults these days), we found it difficult to keep in touch due to various lifestyle demands, so we decided we would meet up for a round of golf every month!

I am a family man and love spending time with my young daughter, who means the world to me.

Unusual Fact

When I was around 17 years old, I was a committed Lacrosse player.  I played for Stockport, Cheshire county & had trials for the England National team.

Bucket List

Honestly, I don’t really have one, but to visit as many places around the world would be something I could sink my teeth into for sure!

Favourite Place

I have some of my fondest memories in Portugal from family holidays growing up. I’d like to go back, I hear the golf’s pretty good there, too!

Favourite Food

Tough one,  it’s a toss-up between a good Curry or Mexican.  I do love a bit of heat.

Favourite Movie

One of my Favourite movies has to be Saving Private Ryan.  Growing up, my dad was an avid historian and loved military strategy from around the World War 1 & 2 Era’s.

Naturally, his enthusiasm for it brushed off onto me, and that film is one of the best to have ever done it, in my opinion.

Can't get through a day without...

100% Coffee, I’m not ashamed to admit that I have an addiction.
