John Wilkin

I have now been at Pierce for over 14 years and deal with all aspects of personal taxation, ranging from tax return completion to enquiry work with HMRC. I also have responsibility for PAYE compliance reviews with HMRC and also the Firm’s completion of clients forms P11s and all aspects of general tax management.

How did you end up working for an accountancy practice?

Back in 1998 when working for HMRC I received a telephone call from a member of the tax department at Pierce, during the conversation my contact mentioned that there was a vacancy in the tax department at Pierce, was I interested? The rest is history and this was probably one of the best decisions that I have ever made.

Unusual Facts:

I had professional football trials at Bury and Oldham – both proved unsuccessful and I reluctantly headed off to HMRC instead.
