Payroll Advisor in our payroll team, providing the first point of contact for payroll clients.
I began my career at Boots The Chemist, working across all departments before becoming a Cluster Manager – a role that involved coordinating pharmacist cover for over 20 stores (since doors couldn’t open without a pharmacist on site!). After having my son, I left Boots and later joined Subway’s Regional Office, where I found myself processing payroll. Although I tried different roles after being made redundant from Subway, payroll seemed to follow me everywhere, so eventually, I embraced it and decided to make it my full-time career.
I enjoy handicrafts and cooking, and while getting fit isn’t always my idea of fun, it’s become part of my routine — and I’ve lost 5 stone so far! For the past 15 years, I’ve loved watching my son play cricket and still cheer him on from the sidelines. I also used to do Ballroom and Latin American dancing, and I’ve got the medals to show for it!
I have done a solo parachute jump, was in a fancy dress competition judged by Paul Daniels and abseiled down Norbreck Castle in Blackpool!
The Highlands and Islands of Scotland are my favourite, but anywhere in Scotland really. It always feels like I am going home when I visit Scotland, and we have had some amazing holidays there. It is beautiful, and you can get 4 seasons in one day, which changes its appearance magically.
I would say something sweet, but I have given up sugar or at least mainly given up sugar; a little bit creeps in now and again.
I love fruit and overnight oats, and curries, and basically nearly everything.
Film – Stardust is a firm favourite. It’s a brilliant film, and the main song, Rule The World by Take That, always brings back memories of my son singing it on his way to or from nursery.
Song – These Are the Days of Our Lives by Queen never fails to move me — it gets me every time.
Album – War of the Worlds is an incredible soundtrack that completely transports you into the heart of the story and the chaos of the invasion.
A cup of tea in my little Highland Coo china cup, my son bought it for me for Mother's Day a few years ago!
